It started on instagram…
On August 8, 2023, I posted the first highlight from Seventh-day Adventist basketball on the newly created AdventistHoops Instagram account, and the response was unbelievable.
It was the community we didn’t know we needed. Basketball has been a staple in Adventist school athletic programs for decades—it’s something that we’re proud of and care deeply about. But for all those years we were largely separated by regions, unaware of the great talent across the entire continent. With Instagram providing a place to come together, it gave us an opportunity to celebrate our players and programs, and support one another like never before.
What started as just highlights evolved into a podcast, in-person coverage at select Adventist games and tournaments, and two years after starting on Instagram, in August 2025, the first AdventistHoops event will take place in Loma Linda, California: AdventistHoops All-American Weekend.
